Well it was a long long day..
We left here at 6 am (our check in time was 7:30) and got there at 6:45 after taking some back routes to kill some time (we hit no traffic of course lol).. Well we check in and wait.. Well 8:10 rolled around and i finally stopped talking it up with the receptionist and she went back to see why the tech hasn't called us back . Well we get called back for the ultrasound finally and it is a 45 minute test.. Well Odin fought very hard to keep still so it took an hour.. But they got all the images they needed. They then walked us over to Nuc Med to get checked in.. Well this is when the ball was dropped.. They then walk us over to this nursing station to get Odin's IV started.. I start to bawl when the nurses (5 yes 5) pin him down and blow 2 veins and then have the nerve to blame "him" for fighting it.. Umm hello he is 19 months wth did you think he would do??? Well they get a crappy version of an IV in and get the injection done.. and we are sent to wait the 3 hours.. I walk over to Hema/Onco clinic (i was told to when i talked to someone last week) well they tell me i didn't need to be there.. I bawled again. I couldn't take anymore confusion.. I didn't know when anything was or what i was suppose to do. The nurse took pity on me and Odin and took his IV out and let us play in the waiting room for 3 hours.. The nurse then called the head anathesiologist (sorry i butchered that) for their department and she came to start his IV. She was AMAZING! Seriously she made me feel soo much better about that day. She waited till Odin was ready for the IV and not pin him down.. We then walked back to Nuc Med to get the test started.. It would take 2 hours to get it all done. They call Odin back and he was already asleep so they gave him his meds and then he went to medical sleep land. I left and go guzzle a gallon of water (i figure if Odin is NPO so am i)... Well then i just wandered and waited.. It wasn't that bad.. I was ok with what was happening.. Odin was done with his final 2 tests and they came and got me. He was still asleep and didn't wake up for almost a half hour after that, and so he was out almost an hour after they stopped the meds.. So he just naturally takes a while to wake up. We are then discharged after 20 more minutes and head home..
Today (the day after) i get a call and i won't go into that but let's just say i have learned that i will state "please don't call with only 50% news when i have an appt soon to get the full news"..
